There are ways to increase and get $10000 high limit credit cards for people with bad credit because you can lower your risk profile for the banks to extend more credit to you. By monitoring and correcting certain factors that influence how the banks derive the maximum credit allowable for your account, it is easy to set up lines of credit with higher limits for flexible and easy financing.
When deciding on your credit limits, your credit card issuer company uses your credit score as an initial determinant as well as other factors such as your age, job, income etc. You do not need to worry about a low initial credit card limit, because you can increase it after you have been using the account reasonably for a few months.
This means there is a healthy level of transactions made on the card, while your credit card bills are always settled punctually every month with no late payments. In fact, your payment history with the credit card issuer becomes a more important consideration in getting higher card limits even if you have bad credit problems with other lenders.
The result of new consumer credit protection rules is that annual fees are increased, card limits reduced and other incentives and card rewards are cut back in response to the lowered profits that can be made now.
The credit cards with high limits are also usually the ones with the most benefits and lowest APR rates. For example, the high limit Capital One Platinum Prestige Credit Card comes with free annual fees, 0% intro APR on both purchases and transfers until June 2011. The high limit Citibank Platinum Select MasterCard offers no annual fees, 0% Intro APR for up to 18 months.

Furthermore, the fact that the credit card industry is very competitive can be used to consumers' advantage. While your card limit is computed automatically, you can call in and speak to the customer service and ask for a higher limit just because "the other banks are giving you a $10,000 limit credit card". Sometimes, you get the increased limit for free, sometimes you are required to accept higher card interest rates in return especially if you have poor credit scores.
If you have applied for a line of credit, your borrowing limit is also based on your projected ability to repay the loan. Even if you have poor credit, as long as you can show proof of high income that is consistently earned for the past 12 months, it will be able to help you get higher credit limits.
For business owners and those who are self employed, you need to show income documents based on your tax filing and not other types of income statements. The presence of irregular income is often a problem for getting a high limit credit card for self employed people with bad credit.
If you are not able to prove your actual income or a large portion of your pay check comes from commissions which vary month to month, find a bank that allows you to apply for high limit credit cards with stated income declarations.
Due to the credit crunch, around 20% of all credit card companies lowered the credit limit for prime borrowers with above 700 credit scores while 60% reduced credit lines for users with poor credit. This action reflects the increased risk of extending overly high credit to consumers with bad credit or unemployed for long periods. People with credit card limits up to $20,000 are now quite rare even if you have ideal credit scores.
Recently, the Credit Cardholder's Bill of Rights that was passed by the Obama administration in May 2009 complicates the matter of getting high credit card limits for people with bad credit. On one hand, it is intended to help protect consumers against some unfair practices used by credit card issuers to earn more profits from card users who are not able to properly manage their cards and spendings themselves. On the other hand, high credit limits for people with poor credit becomes a subject of debate and it is no longer that easy to increase your card limits even when you can pay back the borrowed money on time.
Credit card companies are no longer allowed to use the double billing cycle method of charging fees. Any introductory promotional offers such as 0% APR, 0% balance transfers etc must be maintained for the first 6 months. No card interest rate hikes can be made during the first year while subsequently consumers will also be informed and give a 45-day advance notice when an interest rate hike will be levied on their account.

When you exceed your credit limit in a particular month or billing cycle, the banks can only charge the over-the-limit fee once and not multiple times. If the card user cannot make the minimum payment within 30 days of the due date, then the banks can increase interest rates.
With the increasing unemployment rates, more banks are no longer offering stated income credit card applications and placing more emphasis on income verification when it comes to high limit credit cards for poor credit borrowers.

I haven't seen that high credit scores mean a thing. I could give mine but suffice it to say they are considered "excellent" by most standards. I applied for a Citibank Visa which was declined because I do not carry a revolving balance, and an Amex rep after I applied for and got denied for a Blue and a Zync from them told me my scores of 757 and 763 were "mediocre" today, and that he could do nothing to help me, but he really hoped someday I'd be a customer even though they basically said I'm a deadbeat.
I can't see that you have any leverage in dealing with these people they simply do not care if you go elsewhere. Their business model is based on reducing risk to the point that they seem to really believe that the fewer customers they have, the more money ahead they are going to be, so they would LOVE to see the customers leave so they won't risk not getting paid. I'm not being sarcastic all of this is true.
I frankly think we just need to worry less about this stupid crap and live our lives and to hell with them we are better off without any of them anyway.
